Give Poetry A Chance are pleased to announce that that we will be co-hosting ‘Give Poetry A Leap Of Faith’ alongside Leap of Faith, at Sotto on Wednesday 25th January 2023.
Give Poetry a Leap of Faith is an evening of poetry aimed at raising money for The Paper Cup Project. Poet Dan Cullinan (Give Poetry A Chance) and spoken word artist Matt Jacobson (Leap of Faith) have come together to organise the event as it will be a tough winter for many in our community and the poetry community want to show their love and support, to bring communities together, to help and to unite. We are one.
The evening will take place on Wednesday 25th January 2023, in Sotto on Wood Street. The event coincides with Burns Night, and what better way to celebrate the tradition than in a bar with a bunch of poets!
Performances are on a first come, first served basis. Poets can perform a maximum of three poems and there will be a charge to perform. It will cost £1 for one poem, £2 for two poems, and £5 for three poems, with all money going towards The Paper Cup Project.
Doors open at 19:00, and the event begins at 19:30. Entry is free, though we kindly ask that a suggested donation of £5 is made per person to The Paper Cup Project on the night.
